GORGEOUS & MEANINGFUL

QUALITY ensured

Collector's item. So glad I purchased. They're gorgeous. Truly works of art.

I love the white background of the tiles ... it really makes the colors of the set show up easily, even in poor lighting. With other sets, I struggle to see because there is not enough contrast.
Ada F.
I didn't think I could get excited about tiles anymore. ... I'm absolutely in love. And the packaging and quality and the touch with the shell: top-tier. GREAT JOB.
Mary S.
Love my La Jolla tiles. They’re gorgeous beyond words and perfectly represent the beauty of the place we call our home. What a talented mother-daughter team
Jennifer G.
I have a huge crush on The La Jolla Tiles...the one Bam is a seagull with a fry hanging out of its mouth. It's funny because it's true.

Mahjong for the California Coast

With so many American mahjong sets on the market, how do you choose? You look for something that's not only beautiful, it's also meaningful.

We're Catherine & Ellie, mother and daughter. When we looked for a mahjong set that we felt a connection to, we came up short. As proud Californians, we felt the state's beauty, nature, and coastal way of life were not fully represented at the mahjong table.

So, we created a set that pays tribute to the California coast, specifically to our hometown of La Jolla, California.

Artistry in action

Our vibrant beach colors and lively stylish designs bring coastal chic to the mahjong table.

Quality Craftsmanship

Premium acrylic, engraving, and UV color printing and an excellent hand-feel. Built for playing mahj for years to come.

Focus Tested for Ease of Play

Our tiles are intentionally easy to read, thanks to simple designs, traditional  suit colors, and high contrast artwork. (Children  love our tiles, too!)

"These Are Happy Tiles!"

Fun, familiarity, and meaning all rolled into one set. Our most consistent compliment? Our customers tell us that our tiles bring them a sense of happiness and joy.

This set-up of tiles and mat is not only gorgeous but brings back so many fond memories of my decade in San Diego. ... Husband and I played on it last night and the memories it brought back were so sweet. He says it is the best set of tiles he's ever seen, and he is not one to regularly hand out compliments.

Kel L.

I played with them once and fell in love.

Jean C

We love these tiles. They made my husband want to learn, finally!

Jackie G.

Thank you so much for creating something so perfect.

Our Process, Our Promise

Quality Delivered, from Sketch to You

  • From pencil to pixel. Our artist, Ellie, sketches every design by hand, then refines it digitally.
  • Months in the making. We partnered with an overseas factory. Over 6+ months, custom acrylic is created, cured and layered, then cut, polished, and tumbled smooth.
  • High precision, high standards. Every tile is laser-engraved, precision color-filled by a machine operator, then cured to create a lasting bond between ink and tile to prevent paint chipping.
  • Personally packed. We inspect and pack each package by hand before we ship it to you.
  • We stand behind every tile. Our name is on every set for a reason: our reputation is our brand. If anything's ever wrong, we'll make it right; just reach out.
